Conquer the Summit & Family Fun Run 2016

Conquer the Summit walk

The Lions Club of Mt. Barker is pleased to announce it will once again be running the Conquer the Summit Fun Run on the 10th of April 2016

Individuals or teams may elect to run or walk to the Mount Barker Summit starting from the Rotunda at Keith Stephenson Park @ 8am

The ‘Fun Run’ is a joint community event organised by the Lions Club of Mount Barker and the YMCA Adelaide Hills with support from the District Council of Mount Barker as a fundraising event for the benefit of OPERATION FLINDERS Adelaide Hills Chapter (a real direction for young people at risk) AND OTHER LOCAL CHARITIES.

The Lions Club and the YMCA Adelaide Hills are inviting YOUR participation in the event.

This year there are two runs to choose from, the traditional Conquer the Summit run (approx. distance 11km) or the shorter Family Fun Run 5km.

The 11km run starts at Keith Stephenson Park progresses along the Linear trail to Bald Hills Road, then on to Springs Road all the way to the finish line at the summit. (see map here).

The 5km Run/Walk starts also at Keith Stephenson Park progressing along the Linear trail to the Laratinga Wetlands and return to Keith Stephenson Park.

Prizes will be awarded for each category of entry (See More Here)

It is suggested that any group entry could use this as an opportunity to obtain sponsorship to raise funds for a charity of their choice.

The event is being supported by the SA Roadrunners Club

The event is proudly supported by the District Council of Mt. Barker

Operation Flinders Foundation is a South Australian based charitable organisation that runs a world leading wilderness adventure program for young people at risk. The program takes participants between the age of 14 and 18 years on an eight day exercise in the far northern Flinders Ranges, providing an opportunity for its participants to break away from their past and grow as valued members of the community.
